Hello! Thank You for considering me as your personal trainer. I am delighted to share my fitness background and experiences with you to give you a better understanding of my approach to fitness. When hiring a personal trainer, it is important to find one with qualified credentials and philosophies that match your requirements.
My Story: I have always had an interest in fitness and have made efforts to work out regularly most of my life. My favorite activities are biking, hiking, and strength training.
I have suffered from lower back pain since I was a teenager, not knowing it was degenerative arthritis the whole time! Increasing pain debilitated my exercising efforts. Soon to follow were the arrivals of our two beautiful children, and of course I was very determined to lose all those extra pregnancy pounds.
After I discovered the reason for my back pain, I learned all I could about arthritis, core strengthening, fat burning, and put my own program together that I could do at home. Fast forward 6 months and I was under my pre-pregnancy weight, becoming more pain free every day, all while staying at home taking care of an infant and a 3 year old.
That’s when it hit me: I wanted to become a personal trainer!
So I hit the books and studied with The Health & Fitness Alliance, Fit For Two, and On The Edge Fitness Educators to complete my certifications for:
BCRPA Weight Training ACE Personal Training (in process)
BCRPA Personal Training Pre & Post Natal Fitness Specialist
I frequently attend a variety of workshops to keep on top of the latest and effective fitness trends. I am also working towards becoming an ACE Certified Lifestyle & Weight Management Consultant to better help my clients identify and overcome their health, lifestyle, and fitness barriers in effort to reach their goals and maintain them for a lifetime.
I envision myself working with a variety of clients interested in losing weight, becoming stronger, and discovering their true abilities. My specialty is to work with pre / post natal clients in their home to help them overcome the same issues I was faced with: finding time and energy to incorporate fitness into every day life with children while being sleep deprived, suffering from pain, and being stuck in the house 24/7!
My philosophy is to take fitness with you anywhere with minimal equipment using functional training methods to strengthen your everyday living movements. With this approach you will find it easier to complete your workouts and enjoy the variety they bring because you can do them outdoors, in your home, at a gym, and while you travel.
I am excited to help clients achieve more than what they think they are capable of. I will educate anyone willing to learn on how to make amazing changes to their body and health. Most of all, I am thrilled that I get to be part of the process of a client striving for success and results.
